Have you ever wished you could just hold a piece of Nutella in your hands and bite it instead of that awkward licking it off a spoon thing? Well, here’s the answer to those prayers and all you need is a bowl, a spoon and five ingredients. Oh and something to bake the brownies in.
Nutella brownie recipes have been floating around for a while but after a few run ins with recipes that consumed a jar or more of Nutella and had minimal Nutella taste I was very hesitant to try them. One day I succumbed, but not after making some alterations. First of all, I didn’t see the point in additional butter, second of all a little leavening never hurt anything and third of all Nutella is so sweet that some coarse salt is almost a must have. The result is what I had hoped it would be.
The best part? Because they are so gooey they don’t dry out making them a great make ahead dessert for the holiday season!
So without any further ado I present to you these incredibly gooey undeniably Nutella-y brownies.
5-ingredient Nutella Brownies
1 13-oz jar Nutella
2 eggs
1/2 cup flour
1/2 tsp baking powder
coarse salt or sea salt for sprinkling
Preheat your oven to 350 degrees. Very lightly grease a square pan/dish – you can use a 9*9 or an 8*8. Crack the eggs into a bowl, whisk to break up the yolks, then briskly stir in the nutella till well combined, fold in the flour and baking powder. Spread in your pan, sprinkle with coarse salt. Bake for 22-26 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out almost clean. The middle should look set.
These brownies stay very soft and gooey so let them cool before cutting into squares. Or grab a spoon and have some fun – whose judging.
I’ve had these before and I can attest that they are delicious! One of my brother’s friends made these for the dessert table at his mangni and they are so so so good!
Love that you’ve added the flaky salt, and my God, look at the flaky top! Gorgeous!
Yaay, you are back with some delicious recipes. This looks so easy, and I love the plate you served it on soo much:)
Love Nutella brownies, yours look delicious!
Ooooh, these look delicious. I love the addition of sea salt! I will definitely be trying these soon.
The opening of your post reminds me of early on in my marriage, I once had nutella straight from the jar, and then hid the empty jar as I heard my husband come home cuz I had no idea how he would react lol! I can’t even remember what he said when he found out now but we’re still together so he must embrace my addiction haha. These sounds wonderful! x
Sarahhhhhhhh.. HELP!! I am going to stick my face straight into the jar of nutella while my husband isnt looking – who needs a spoon?! After a LONGGGG time of staying as faaarrrr away as possible from the isle that carries nutella, yesterday I buckled when the supermarket had a promotional ENTIRE WALL of nutella – and I mean piled Right up to the roof. So I brought home a jar and now I have no sense of restraint left! I need to bake something before I Actually stick my face in the jar and lick it clean!
evil nutella displays get me every time!!!! I have a nutella pound cake here which is awesome – and makes for great gifts. I make small loaves so I can give them to friends (and still get one lol). good luck ehhe
I made the brownies – Yummy! And ridiculously easy. Brownies get shared with hubs and Mom, and the jar is there to tempt me no more…. win win? I suppose so!
Sigh.
hahaha you know they basically taste like nutella without the awkwardness of spoon licking. But there are nutella jars on sale every where I go now – so tempting! glad you made the brownies!
How simple yet delicious. Great recipe for kids. Thanks for sharing!
